Polythene wraps on Southwark Bridge

Polythene wraps have now been applied to the east and west sides of Span 2. The generators and compressors have been delivered at Southwark Bridge and work on grit blasting the underside will begin shortly. Scaffolding on Southwark Bridge

Work has now started on erecting scaffolding around Span 2 on Southwark Bridge. The work being carried out is within the existing Traffic Management arrangements. Removing the polythene wraps

The Project

The restoration of Southwark Bridge is being recorded by Harris Digital Productions, who have also set up this website to show work in progress and updated information about the project. An ancient City trust, Bridge House Estates, of which the City of London Corporation is the sole trustee, has started a £2.5million programme to revitalise  Southwark Bridge.
