The old coatings have been removed and the Blast Primer applied. Work on applying the High Build Aluminium Primer gets underway on Span 5.

In May, 1811, a Bill was passed for the erection of a new bridge to cross the Thames about a quarter of a mile west of London Bridge, and to be known as Southwark Bridge.
