Polythene wraps on Southwark Bridge
Polythene wraps have now been applied to the east and west sides of Span 2. The generators and compressors have been delivered at Southwark Bridge and work on grit blasting the underside will begin shortly.

Scaffolding on Southwark Bridge
Work has now started on erecting scaffolding around Span 2 on Southwark Bridge. The work being carried out is within the existing Traffic Management arrangements.

The polythene wraps and scaffolding have now been removed from Span 5 of Southwark Bridge, revealing its bright colours of green and yellow.

Work continues on removing the polythene wraps from the scaffolding which surrounds span 5 of Southwark Bridge.

The old coatings have been removed and the Blast Primer applied. Work on applying the High Build Aluminium Primer gets underway on Span 5.

These images of Southwark Bridge were taken on 7 May 2009 and show Spans 2, 3 and 4 before restoration. Contractors Pyeroy have already completed Span 1 and are currently working on Span 5 (north approach).
